Community Policing Knowledge Hub is designed by the Police Stabilization Project (PSP), implemented by Alinea International and funded by Global Affairs Canada. PSP builds upon the experience of community policing initiatives implemented in Ukraine by CUPDP and PTAP projects since 2015. In April 2024, the official launch of three mobile Survivor Relief Centres took place, enabling residents of areas no longer under Russian occupation and frontline regions to receive qualified psychological, social, and legal support.
Survivor Relief Centres
The mobile Survivor Relief Centres were acquired with the support of the governments of Spain Online Kaszinó Vélemények and Belgium and are fully equipped to provide consultations. Ukrainians can come to the Centres with any question related to the war. Qualified specialists provide the necessary social, psychological, legal or informational support in a comprehensive and confidential manner — and all in one place.
Where are the Centres located?
The main objective of this project is creating a safe environment in the city of Zaporizhia by means of a large-scale communication and awareness raising campaign. Our mission is to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. Survivor Relief Centres were created to respond to the challenges of the ongoing war. Internally displaced people, those who have fled active combat zones or Russian occupied territories, local residents — anyone who needs assistance can get help here. Thanks to joint support, children with developmental disabilities attended classes that bring them closer to a full life. Over two months, we provided assistance to hospitals for more than 10,900 USD.
Since the outbreak of full-scale war, Ukraine has faced unprecedented levels of violence. The United Nations estimates that the number of people who have suffered sexual violence during the war is times higher than the official figures. Specialists at the Centres provide comprehensive, specialized assistance in cases of conflict-related sexual violence, and ensure that survivors have access to the support they need.
